we have learned at least one victim has died after gunfire erupted in the busy downtown area. just before 5 pm, people are being treated at a nearby hospital. we ran down here and then we saw this massive scene. seattle police tweeted out that they were investigating a shooting and they said it happened around the fourth and pine areas. we can see multiple medics and officers in that area. there could be more victims. we are told that the shooter did run away. it is a male and that person has not been caught. when we talk to investigators we heard them telling folks they needed to move out because it was unsafe. you can see officers have their guns out and it is a tense situation. we want to take you to the scene right now. police have the area blocked off. they are investigating what happened. we will continue to monitor the situation and bring you any up dates as they come into the newsroom. dramatic new numbers in the opioid crisis. we are in san francisco wher ....
