Missing woman found dead in Young County | The Graham Leader

A woman who has been assumed missing for one week was found deceased today, as the result of a vehicle wreck two miles north of Loving on Hwy. 16. Dona Louise Chambers, 60, of Graham, was pronounced dead on the scene Saturday, Nov. 25, due to injuries sustained in the wreck. A preliminary DPS investigation into the wreck revealed that a 2022 Buick Encore, driven by Chambers, was traveling north of Hwy. 16.

Smith indicted on criminally negligent homicide of infant

Following an Olney Police Department and Texas Rangers investigation, and a Young County Grand Jury indictment, Jasmine Alexis Kay Smith, 27, was arrested Wednesday for criminally negligent homicide of an 8-month-old infant. Smith was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 22 in Jack County on a charge of criminally negligent homicide, according to a joint statement released late Wednesday from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Olney Police Department.

Explosion at water treatment plant injures one

An explosion occurred during a chemical delivery today at the Graham Water Treatment Plant, destroying the tank that stores bleach at the facility and injuring one. Until the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality completes an assessment, there is no ETA on the plant returning to normal operation. The explosion occurred at approximately noon Thursday, Nov. 2 in the 400 block of Power Plant Road in Graham. City Manager Eric Garretty said an individual was injured due to the explosion.
