19 th January 2021 10:58 am Openwork has reshuffled its executive team and promoted former wealth and platform director Mike Morrow into the newly created role of chief commercial officer. Morrow (pictured), who has run the wealth channel at Openwork since 2015, will take on the role from the end of January. He previously worked for Ascentric as sales and marketing director and was head of insurance and investment at HSBC. Earlier in his career he was head of platform and distribution at AXA. In his new role, he will lead on proposition development across the business as well as the development of the wealth platform and contractual relationships with adviser firms and third parties. ....

18 th January 2021 12:04 pm Kingswood has launched an advice academy designed to recruit aspiring financial planners who are looking to start or switch careers into the wealth sector. The first group of four trainee advisers from across the UK have started a 24-month programme and will receive a Diploma in Financial Planning, upon completion. As part of the training, candidates will acquire new technical and people skills, and develop their financial planning knowledge. The two-year programme, which began on Monday 11 January, will have a 13-week rotation in wealth planning where they will be shadowing a wealth planner during this period. In addition to set projects and tasks throughout the programme, the candidates are required to participate in external and internal training sessions. They will also be given study time to revise for and pass their examinations. ....
In 2020, over 100 advisers joined the network and 80 individuals joined support functions. The graduates will learn about the Openwork business in general and specifically the new customer relationship management system, ConcertHub. They will then support adviser firms with getting the most from this new technology. Once this work is completed, Openwork is committed to helping them move on to fulfilling roles within the business and potentially broader careers within the financial advice industry.
