Lagos Places 4,000 Unemployed Graduates On N40k Monthly Salary


(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Lagos State Government says it has placed 4,000 unemployed graduates on N40,000 monthly salary for six months.
The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, made this known on Wednesday during the 2021 Ministerial Press Briefing in Commemoration of the Second Year in Office of Gov. Bababjide Sanwo-Olu.
Arobieke said this was implemented through the ministry’s Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP) intended to address the challenge of unemployment among unemployed graduates in Lagos State.
She said the programme, which was planned to last for six months, was meant to expose interns to a particular job, profession or industry and enhance networking. ....

Lagos, May 5, 2021 The Lagos State Government says it has placed 4,000 unemployed graduates on N40,000 monthly salary for six months.

Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the state will get 20,000 slots out of 774,000 jobs for Nigerians across all the Local Government Areas in the country being offered by the Federal Government through its Extended Special Public Works (SPW) Programme.
The programme is being implemented through the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in collaboration with state governments and other relevant stakeholders.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed this at the official flag-off of the programme in the Federal Government, held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa-Ikeja, even as he called for increased allocation to the state, citing increasing population, attraction of Lagos, among others to all Nigerians with every village or town having it ....

FG inaugurates 20,000 extended public works in Lagos

Lagos, Jan. 26, 2021 The Federal Government on Tuesday inaugurated 20,000 Extended Special Public Works (SPW) Programme in Lagos state.
The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, made this known in Lagos during the inauguration of the Extended SPW Programme of the 774,000 jobs in the country.
Fashola, represented by the ministry’s Head of Works in Lagos State, Mr Kayode Popoola, said the programme aimed at providing employment opportunities for unemployed Nigerians
The minister congratulated the 20,000 Lagosians that had been selected to participate in the programme.
He urged the participants to be at their very best and be good ambassadors of the state. ....
