The Bad Axe Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee Contest was conducted a bit different this year because of the challenges and cautions to be taken in regard to COVID-19. Mr. Peter Batzer, principal of Bad Axe Middle School was very gracious and generous with his time and efforts to give his students the very best opportunity to compete in the annual Knights of Columbus contest. The winners were first place - Rayleigh McKimmy, Grade 5; second place - Cody Palmer, Grade 5; third place - Lihanna Howells, Grade 4; and fourth place - Ben Wilson, Grade 6. All of the winners will receive gift cards and will compete in further Regional Competition on Saturday, Feb. 27 in Merrill.
