democracy in this moment. a, what do you mean by women fight harder? b, what is the nature of the fight that you understand that s in front of you, in front of all of us, in light of the forces trying to undermine the republic at this moment? well, i think that the fight for abortion rights, for our clean environment, and then for gun safety, i think that i ve been rated repeatedly by outside organizations, govtrack and the committee for effective congresses, first, second, or third most effective member for getting things done. actually accomplishing things, not just talking but getting things done. and i have been in the fights in the street. just got arrested last week or week before last. also in the back room. i can tell you, in the back room, when the doors are closed and the cameras are off, the people who stand up and fight to the death for women s rights are women. we need more women. we re half the population.

WASHINGTON Central Valley Rep. Josh Harder pulled off an upset to defeat a Republican in the 2018 election, but in 2020 he did something more impressive: He won again.
Harder was one of only a handful of swing-seat Democrats to survive last year’s elections, which ended with a sharply reduced House majority for the party.
Harder, 34, and those who know him credit his success to focusing on issues that matter to his district and efforts at bipartisanship. Democrats hope he can serve as a model for their candidates in next year’s midterms, which historically are rough for the president’s party.
with republican colleagues, if you do get reelected, what sorts of things are you willing to compromise on? well, kristin, you re right, and i do it because it s the right thing to do and it s because what people in north eastern pennsylvania expect me to do. i got elected back in 2012 and since then i ve been reaching across the aisle because that s my job. in fact, they score us on everything. if you go on govtrack i ve introduced more bills supported by republicans than any other democrat in the house, it s worked, you have to work at it but they expect me in north eastern pennsylvania to try to get past the partisan bickering that goes on in washington all of the time, i will continue to do that and you know what, even if the democrats win back the house, there s no reason for me to stop that because, again, the
