Ian Schweizer, 38, was charged Wednesday with domestic violence after accusations by his partner and is being held at the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Institute, according to an inmate record. A complaint warrant also seen by
Newsweek states that he is accused of knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injury to [the victim], specifically by holding her down by her wrists and neck with his hands.
Two sources with direct knowledge of the investigation characterized the wounds sustained by the victim as violent and supporting sexual assault. The sources also confirmed to Newsweek that further charges are pending. ....

The New Jersey Attorney General s Office spent nearly $270,000 to investigate coverage from
Newsweek and other outlets regarding the acting head of the New Jersey State Police s handling of a corruption case.
News of the probe and its price tag come amid calls for police reform and transparency nationwide, including in New Jersey, where Acting State Police Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan has not received a confirmation hearing in three and a half years.
Newsweek first reported on June 16 of last year that Callahan, then deputy superintendent of operations, held an informal sitdown in March 2017 with Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch and two other officials at a Bound Brook diner, where Callahan revealed that one of his troopers had filed corruption charges against the prosecutor s office. The charges surrounded the handling of a quashed sexual assault ....

A massive winter storm has pummelled the US east coast, grounding flights, shuttering vaccination sites and bringing New York City to a standstill.
By Monday afternoon as much as 19in (48cm) of snow had already fallen in parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and 17in (43cm) in New York City.
New York City and New Jersey have both declared a state of emergency.
The US National Weather Service said the storm will move up to New England, before tapering off on Tuesday.
