Govs meet on fuel subsidy, COVID-19 vaccine

GOVERNORS will on Wednesday meet to discuss the audit report of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation and the issue of petrol subsidy, as well as the r oll out of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Other issues to be deliberated upon at the 28th teleconference meeting also include an update on the meeting with the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Head, Media and Public Affairs of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, in Abuja.
It read in part, “The various issues revolving around the COVID-19 vaccines roll out will feature prominently in the 28th teleconference meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (5th in 2021) on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

Thirty- six State Governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, with the COVID-19 vaccines roll out, topping the agenda of discourse.
At the meeting which will be the 28th teleconference meeting of the NGF since the outbreak of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 pandemic, and the 5th in 2021, the governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who leads the governors’ committee that interfaces with the Presidential Task Force on Covid19 is expected to brief the governors on the issues around the rollout of the vaccines.

The 36 state governors under the aegis of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) will on Wednesday receive reports from Department for International Development (DFID) and update on the subsidy of premium motor spirit (PMS).
The meeting which is expected to commence at 2 pm, will be chaired by the NGF Chairman, Governor Kayode Fayemi.
According to the statement issued by the NGF Media office, the “DFID will be making a presentation on the NNPC Audit reports and what the states should know while the last presentation, which is by no means the least will be speaking to trade facilitation in Nigeria through e-customs and a PPP structure in partnership with the British High Commission.”
