MANGALURU: Plans are afoot to set up oxygen plants for government hospitals in Dakshina Kannada district, said Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath.
At a meeting of oxygen suppliers, representatives of the Indian Medical Association and officials convened on Monday, the MLA said hospitals in Dakshina Kannada should not suffer due to oxygen shortage crisis at any cost.
“We have discussed measures to be taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of oxygen to hospitals. The Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers (MCF) has already agreed to set up oxygen plants in ESI Hospital in the city and at the taluk hospital in Bantwal under the CSR activity. Meanwhile, the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has come forward to set up an oxygen plant for another taluk hospital in the district under their CSR initiative. Similarly, two more oxygen plants will also be set up for the taluk hospital
