A regular report by the uns food and Agriculture Organisation is expected to confirm demand for animal based food meat and Dairy Products is continuing to grow. The livestock industry has grown around five fold since the 1960s. And that growth cant continue. Food production and consumption is already over a quarter of our carbon footprint. In three decades the worlds population will be approaching 10 billion sending demand for food soaring. Researchers say changing our diet is the biggest single thing we can do to combat Climate Change. Switching to a plant based diet would cut land use by over three quarters and halve the Greenhouse Gases produced by food production. So plant based alternatives to meat are set to become huge business, a 140 billion industry within a decade, according to one estimate.
