There is no better fashion inspiration than Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, and the original members of Gossip Girl's Constance Billard in-crowd.
Is everyone else as eagerly awaiting the return of
Gossip Girl as we are? The original smash-hit drama about rich New York City private school teens is getting an HBO Max reboot in 2021, and the internet is sort of beside itself. Millennials who grew up devouring the first series are of course on board, but since Netflix recently added the original series to its platform, the show has garnered a whole new fandom who might have been too young for the first go-round.
Fans are already excited to see a more racially-diverse cast of main characters, (considering the original leads were, er.entirely white) and for the promise of more LGBTQ-inclusive storylines. But we can t forget the other starring member of the show - the top-tier designer outfits. No one does an outrageously OTT costume department like an American drama, and given the immense popularity of the original series, no budget will be spared on the reboot, either.
Gossip Girl: Most iconic fashion moments
In the opening episode to series two, leading ladies Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen spend a summer in the Hamptons - complete with very boujie, very Blair-and-Serena-esque wardrobes. (See: Serena s Chanel puzzle tote). James DevaneyGetty Images Gossip Girl: Most iconic fashion moments
When she wasn t busy breaking hearts and taking names, Serena was busy inventing the word bohemian. (Not really, but she did kind of always look like she was starring in an Anthropologie catalogue shoot.) Messy hair, long arty necklaces, and rock and roll vests were all 2008 SVW staples. They say, I m filthy rich and my parents have art world connections.
