(Photo from Sheridan Media files) The Hub on Smith Street is the recipient of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Key Service Award for 2020. One of five Awards of Excellence presented annually by the Chamber, the Hub was announced in virtual awards ceremonies earlier this week. Chamber board member Nadine Gale, who announced the Key Service award nominees, said the Hub provides community-based services that support and keep older adults engaged in the community. Gale said The Hub started in 1973 when the Senior Citizens Council became a private, non-profit corporation, and was known as the Sheridan Senior Center until 2017 when the facility rebranded as The Hub to better reflect how the center encompasses people of all generations. ....
