Google has agreed to pay $8 million to settle claims it used deceptive advertisements to promote the Pixel 4 smartphone, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced on Friday.
Google has been sued for advertisement claims that turn out to be false. Google and iHeartMedia have been sued by the Federal Trade Commission as well as seven states, for Pixel 4 ads that were aired from 2019 to 2020.
The problem appears to be affecting to multiple Pixel models including the Pixel 6 series, but primarily for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, reports 9to5Google.
