Goldsboroâs new fire chief said he is ready for things to return to normal and for his staff to be out and about in the community.
âI want to get out there in the public,â said Goldsboro Fire Chief Ronald Stempien. âThatâs my initial goal is get past this pandemic â get my people out there.â
Stempien, who previously worked as assistant chief of support services at the Goldsboro Fire Department, began as chief June 30.
He succeeds Joe Dixon, who worked as fire chief from 2018 until March. Dixon now works as the fire chief for the city of Gainesville, in Florida, and Gainesville Fire Rescue.
