Trump and his minions are at it again.
Telegraph readers will recall my column “Trump creates jobs – in China,” which appeared in the April 1-2 edition. I wrote of visiting the Riverside Flea Market in Grafton and seeing flags offered for sale that proclaimed TRUMP 2024. An examination of these flags revealed that they were made in the People’s Republic of China, which had been abbreviated to P.R.C. in an attempt to conceal that fact.
Trump campaigned for the presidency in 2016 on the slogan “Make America Great Again.” Having one’s campaign gear manufactured in a communist nation by exploited workers is hardly compatible with such a lofty sentiment.
Family-owned pharmacies played major role in Alton life

On Wednesday morning I picked up a prescription for my wife at the CVS Pharmacy that is located inside the Godfrey Schnucks. While convenient, this Baby Boomer waxes nostalgic for the local pharmacies of old that had their own buildings and were family-operated.
My family had its prescriptions filled at Campbell Pharmacy, which was located on the corner of East Broadway and Market. Dr. Mike Mitchell was our family physician. In that pre-computer era, Dr. Mitchell just picked up the phone in his office while you were seated there and told Homer Campbell the prescription you needed.
