Immanuel begins new chapter with new pastor

After a long search, Immanuel Baptist Church in Elizabethtown has a new pastor.
The church called the Rev. Chris Workman to be their new pastor. He will begin his ministry at the church March 1.
Gloria Brandenburg, a member of the search committee, said the previous pastor of 33 years, Chuck Darland, retired in December 2019. The church hired an interim pastor and then began its search for a new pastor.
âSearching for a pastor during a global pandemic has required us to fully rely on the Lord and his promises,â Brandenburg said.
Before the time of COVID-19, she said they would have planned a series of events over a weekend to get to know a candidate and their family. ....
