Sadness as newly beautified skate park demolished
Crumbled remains of the concrete ramps are demolished at the Glocester Memorial Skate Park last Wednesday. Pops of color recently painted by artist Brian Trainor, who volunteered his time and supplies to the project, can be seen in the rubble.
GLOCESTER – Residents are airing their frustrations after witnessing the demolition of the Glocester Skate Park at Glocester Memorial Park to make way for a new bocce ball course and playgrounds.
Resident Brian Trainor spent the past two summers revitalizing the skate park using donated time and paint to add pops of color and design to the park. When he began, with permission from the town, Trainor said he was told the park would be redone, not demolished. ....
