NATO members cannot afford to underestimate the threat thatal-Qaeda continues to pose to the West and its values of freedom,liberty, human rights, equality, and democracy. The war inAfghanistan is not yet won, and gains remain under threat so longas the region remains susceptible to al-Qaeda and Talibaninsurgencies. Now is the time for the NATO Alliance to defeat thescourge of al-Qaeda.
