In a Council meeting on Friday night, the Coalport Borough and the Glendale Volunteer Fire Company mutually decided to revisit contract negotiations in the Summer. The Glendale Volunteer Fire Company was on a one-year, $3,500 contract with Coalport to provide Fire Protection Services to the Borough. Through the contract, the Borough paid the Fire Company’s Worker Compensation as well as Fire Insurance.
Glendale Fire Company supports 350 Residents in Coalport. Lieutenant Sean Yeckling says they will continue to protect Coalport Residents and they’ll be no change in response times. City Council Members said earlier that the reason why the contract was at stake in the first place was due to financial reasons. ....
