We are happy to be in a community that supports our local businesses as well as local nonprofits so this is a special one today so it is my honor to introduce you to the authors of this book. I will start with ryan marion who dedicated her life to supporting the nations military, veterans and families, she was inspired by the character, leadership and sacrifice of her brother, travis, who made the ultimate sacrifice iraq on april 20 ninth 2007. Ryan leads a National Movement focused on assisting veterans and families of the fallen to take the next step in their personal journeys and inspiring the next generation of leaders. In 2015 she received the president s Lifetime Achievement award for volunteer service. The Doylestown Bookshop’s name was the Village Green in 1998 when Pat Gerney and her husband, Phil, bought it. Pat had worked in the shop for a half dozen years when it started going downhill.
Several walking, talking books were trailed by about 15 parents and kids in, a parade in Doylestown to cap Banned Books Week, the nationwide celebration of the freedom to read.
This year s Banned Books Week sets the stage for increased pushback against censorship by the book community with local and virtual events all week in Bucks County.
