Suspect sought in Solana Beach burglary By City News Service Print Sheriff’s deputies searched Dec. 25 for a suspect in a residential burglary in the Highland Drive area of Solana Beach. (File photo) The burglary was reported at 12:12 p.m. in the 700 block of Castro Street west of Interstate 5, according to Lt. Glen Twyman of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Communications Center. Twyman said deputies were searching for a suspect seen leaving a residence. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 55 years of age, standing 5-feet-10 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds. The suspect was wearing jeans, a blue shirt and a gray hat and was carrying a red backpack. ....
SAN MARCOS A 20-year-old man, accused of stabbing his father repeatedly Tuesday morning in the family’s San Marcos apartment, locked himself inside and refused to surrender to deputies, leading to a SWAT standoff that lasted more than five hours, authorities said. Deputies responded to a 911 call at an apartment complex on Knoll Road near Los Vallecitos Boulevard shortly before 2:30 a.m. after a family argument inside one of the apartment units escalated into a stabbing. The 49-year-old victim was transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. After talking with family members, deputies determined the man had been stabbed by his son, sheriff’s Lt. Dustin Lopez said in a release. ....
SAN MARCOS A man robbed a teller at a Chase bank in San Marcos on Thursday, and deputies searched but didn’t locate him, a sheriff’s official said. The thief, who was carrying a red, white and blue skateboard, waited in line until a bank teller called him to a counter. He then handed over a handwritten note that read, “Give me all your 50’s and 100’s and give me the note back,” FBI Agent Peter Casey said. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and the thief left. Someone at the bank, in a shopping center on South Twin Oaks Valley Road near East Barnham Drive, reported the heist about 11:50 a.m. Sheriff’s Lt. Glen Twyman said the witness did not see any weapon. ....
