following the store robbery three weeks ago. it s the second time this happened this month so as never really happened like that over here. one guy with no back up, what is he going to do? a lot of people go in there and they don t know what s going to happen. the robbery and fatal shooting happened at quick foods on the 1200 block of north austin boulevard. police said two men went into the store and during the robbery they shot him several times and took off his gun and police badge. witnesses say it happened so fast the shooter said very little and the officer really did not have time to react. the 41 year-old who was assigned to the tactical unit was pronounced dead at stroger hospital. about 40 police vehicles escorted ambulance from the hospital to the cook county medical examiner s office. police commissioner gary mccarthy participated. we are so upset. things never happened like this before. like three weeks ago they had some robberies and something went ....
