(Feb. 2, 2021) The Kentucky ACE (American Council on Education) Women s Network is offering three major events in its spring leadership programming schedule, and they are open to all University of Kentucky faculty and staff. This programming is of interest to established and aspiring higher education professionals.
“We have an outstanding spring leadership program planned, with speakers including the incoming provost of Eastern Kentucky University, Sara Zeigler, and President Neeli Bendapudi of the University of Louisville,” said Kathryn Cardarelli, senior assistant provost for faculty affairs and associate professor in College of Public Health’s Department of Health, Behavior & Society. “The University of Kentucky is an institutional member of the Kentucky ACE Women s Network, so there is no cost for faculty and staff to attend.”
Shubhdarshini Tripathi Appointed Indian Ambassador To Kazakhstan

Indian Foreign Service officer Shubhdarshini Tripathi has been appointed the next ambassador from India to Kazakhstan, the Ministry of External Affairs announced Wednesday.
Shubhdarshini Tripathi, currently the Deputy Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, is a 1994 batch diplomat with over two decades of experience behind her. She has previously served as an Indian ambassador to Berlin and Jordan. She is expected to take up her assignment to Kazakhstan shorty, as per MEA’s official press release issued January 27.Â

Single-family home sales, prices climb in December
The median sale price of single-family homes in Hampshire County climbed to $301,555 in 2020, up 7.7% from 2019, when the median price was $275,000, according to figures released this week by the Warren Group, a Boston firm that tracks real estate sales.
The number of homes sold in Hampshire County also rose, but only by about 0.5%, to 1,382 in 2020 compared to 1,374 the year before. Sales surged in December, however, jumping 36% to 150 from 110 homes sold in December 2019, the Warren Group reported.
Statewide, there were 61,469 single-family home sales in 2020 a 3.9% increase from 2019 when there were 59,178 transactions. Meanwhile, the median single-family sale price hit $445,500 an 11.4% increase on the same basis.

HOLYOKE Luz Lopez, executive director of MetroCare of Springfield, and Annamarie Golden, director of Community Relations for Baystate Health, will be the featured presenters on Wednesday, Jan. 27, for the first Holyoke Community College (HCC) Women’s Leadership Luncheon Series of 2021.
The spring Women’s Leadership Luncheon Series will be held from noon to 1:15 p.m. over Zoom on the last Wednesdays of January, February, March, April, and May.
Once a month, participants will join a group of women leaders to discuss current issues and ideas to help their leadership development. They will also have the opportunity to form a supportive network of women leaders to help navigate their careers.
