Feb 16, 2021 MUNISING, MI – Gladys M. (Gamble) Dolaskie, passed away on Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2021 at Harbour View Assisted Living in Munising, MI. Glady was born in Van Meer, MI, on February 25, 1922, the eldest daughter of Harold and Pheby (Courter) Gamble. After graduating from Mather High School in 1940, Glady and Tom Dolaskie were married on Oct 25, 1940. While Tom was fighting in Germany during WWII, Glady drove a short red and white school bus to help on the home front. In 1949, Tom and Glady bought the Dolaskie Bar in Shingleton from Tom’s mother, Ana Dolaskie, and started Dolaskie’s Grocery which they operated together for 30 years. Glady also worked for the US Postal Service at a number of locations including the one that was installed in their store. On retiring, Tom and Glady moved to Dana Lake and converted their cottage to their dream home on the lake. ....
