Jewish museum welcomes public back with reopening Sun Sentinel 4 days ago Sergio Carmona, South Florida Sun Sentinel The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU has reopened its doors to the public after being temporarily closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The JMOF-FIU, 301 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach, features photographs, paintings, sculptures, drawings, visual art exhibitions and cultural public programing on Florida’s Jewish history. Its facility consists of two restored historic buildings that were once synagogues for Miami Beach’s first Jewish congregation. When the pandemic began, the museum transitioned to virtual tours, digital content and social media outreach.
