A COMMUNITY continues to fight against controversial plans for 280 homes in Hawarden. Placards protesting the Gladstone Estate’s plans to develop more than 280 homes in Mancot have been erected across the local community. The green barrier land on Ash Lane in Mancot forms part of Flintshire County Council’s Local Development Plan and is owned by the Gladstone Estate, who have submitted plans to build more than 280 houses on the site in conjunction with Anwyl Homes. Stop the Gladstone Estate Build , the residents group campaigning against the plans, set up a fundraiser in February which successfully raised £250 within days of launching. That money has been used to buy 50 placards which have been attached to garden stakes and are being displayed in front gardens across Mancot and Hawarden.
