Sound Valley festival moving to Oceanview Speedway next month

The Sound Valley music festival, originally scheduled for February 20, this Saturday, at Cook s Gardens, will now take place at the Oceanview Speedway on March 13 and 14.
Organiser Gioia Damosso said the decision was
made shortly after the Government s Covid-19 alert level 2 announcement on Sunday.
It feels like we re organising a whole new festival, Damosso said.
We re keeping the original lineup though, and, because it s now over two days, we ll be able to add a whole raft of local acts and a couple from out of town as well. ....

Summer music festival coming to Whanganui

Kora will perform at the Sound Valley music festival and debut two new singles, Secret Lover and Weekend.
“Whanganui is going through a massive growing phase and it’s a really cool creative city.”
This year was the festival’s debut and Damosso said all the bands and artists were really supportive of the new festival.
“A lot of them have never played in Whanganui before. It’s really exciting.”
The Blackseeds released a new single
Raised with Love and Kora released two singles –
Secret Lovers and
“If it goes well it will become an annual event.”
Damosso wanted to focus on community and benefit the local economy, and $1 from every ticket sold would go to the Whanganui Women’s Refuge. ....
