Whiskey Blu Wins Again | Standardbred Canada

The Southwind Frank gelding Whiskey Blu, a $7,000 yearling unraced at two, is now the winningest trotter in North America in 2021 as he recorded his 10th victory of the campaign in one of three $30,000 divisions of a Pennsylvania All-Stars event for sophomore trotting colts Saturday afternoon (May 22) at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

Dexter Dunn kept the Bar Hopping-Bella Dolce filly in the pocket behind Worthy Of Honor early through fractions of :28.1 and :57.4, then angled her out to challenge the leader nearing the 1:25.3 three-quarters. Bella Bellini cleared to the lead before reaching the homestretch and tacked on her own second successive :27.3 quarter to win comfortably by 5-3/4 lengths over the pacesetter for trainer Nifty Norman and owner David McDuffee.

Four Straight For Rich And Miserable | Standardbred Canada

Rich And Miserable earned his fourth consecutive win on Thursday (April 22) when he took the $14,400 featured trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia in 1:53.3.
Even though he was sitting in the normally-advantageous second position, Rich And Miserable rated far behind pacesetting Pikachu Hanover, who sailed along on an open lead in remarkable fractions of :27, :55.3 and 1:23.1. Pikachu Hanover could not sustain that energy usage, however, and Rich And Miserable narrowed in through the backstretch and drew off in the stretch for driver Tyler Buter, trainer Todd Buter, and owners Buter Farm Inc., Lynette Buter, and William and Carol Fuhs. The Explosive Matter gelding ran his career tally to 27-for-76, with earnings of $507,636. ....
