their voter registration application denied in 2005. they have been very aggressive about kicking people off the roles and denying people in arizona. this moment for mitt romney is supposed to be the great moment of triumph. do you want to take the call? you can take the call. let s listen. ari wants to phone a friend. for obama to lose in a landslide, that means a lot of people are going to have to vote for romney and there are people who don t see any enthusiasm for romney. i can t deny that, hardcore republican operatives, the consultants and so forth, i do think they re like everybody else in the beltway, they live in a bubble. i think too many of them are counting on people like me to gin up enthusiasm for them. they re counting on obama to gin
court justice being retiring. we now, the supreme holds undue sway some say, but they are taking up health care and immigration this summer. what does it mean, does this help, does this gin up enthusiasm for obama getting re-elected? the presidency is one thing and one thing only for me. it s about who you pick for the supreme court. at the end of the day, those justices, have to tell you who gets equal rights. santorum, that should scare the entire country. thanks again to ari, anna marie cox, dylan ratigan and jimmy. you can catch dylan here three hours from now, and every
the payroll tax. you were just talking about that. i think more than this is a moment of kumbaya, the republicans realize they just got drubbed in december by opposing the president on this, and they want to avoid that. so i think the president s had a good run by focusing on wage growth, job growth, the middle class, and the investments that are going to be knows keep the economy moving forward. i wonder, and i want to open this up to the panel a little bit, as we talk about the income inequality situation in the country and the president messaging hard on it, we know last night he was at a hollywood fund-raiser with the likes of george clooney and the foo fighte fighte fighters, those 1 percenters, and the president had defended his support trying to gin up enthusiasm for a super pac. and i wonder to what degree do you think the american public is looking at the two actions, or his message on one hand and his actions on the other and saying,
flank? well, this is how they got in the situation, as harry reid put up these things to gin up enthusiasm before the election and the plan was going to be to make them too toxic to gain any republican support and then blame republicans. it didn t work well, kim, why do it now after the fact, that failed. why do it now? well, now, he s on the hook to some of these groups and actually make some progress. and the reality is, most of this is not going to pass any one of those items in and of themselves to take three weeks to debate and get through. they re going to end up having to focus on the stuff that is absolutely necessary and likely to pass this food safety bill which is teed up to get a vote and then, you know, look, because the democrats ignored some big things like passing appropriations bill and they re going to have to deal with funding the government and probably the tax issue, i wouldn t expect more.
for both of them insofar as the president has to gin up enthusiasm. at the same time there s a deep sense of a deep belief there s not that much he can do right now and it s unclear what we can get through policy wise in the second term. yeah. what the president was trying to do was not actually focus on which i think he s done a few times which is we re recovering, we were losing 750,000 jobs. now we ve been gaining jobs every term. et cetera. he was trying to make a point about the public seconder, how the republican tea party governors and mitt romney would do more of the same and as president firing 1,000 public service workers every month since they ve been in power. and that you simply can t say that your plan is is to lay off workers and say you re creating swrob jobs. i agree it was flubbed. he was trying to make a point about whether we care about government job or not. if the president has room for making up mitt romney s comments about teachers, firefighters and
