CINCINNATIâ An exhibition of 41 evocative paintings sparked an art world commotion in the late 1970s. Now, a reconstruction of the exhibition is coming to the Cincinnati Art Museum. will be on view from March 12âJuly 11. Not often does the chance come along to revisit a cultural event from our past and interpret it anew. With the generous gift of intrepid art collectors Ronnie Levinson Shore and John Shore, the Cincinnati Art Museum has acquired 40 of the 41 paintings from the original American Painting: The Eighties exhibition. When the show debuted at New York Universityâs Grey Gallery in 1979, it touched off a critical and spirited debate about the nature and direction of painting in America. ....

(KSLA) â A Shreveport resident is the man who was fatally shot in his head on Interstate 49 near Gilliam, the Caddo coronerâs office reports. Allen Wesley Jefferson, 41, was shot about 2 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health, the Shreveport hospital where he died at 3:55 p.m. the same day. ....
State health officials released the most recent figures on Tuesday, Dec. 29. New daily reported cases and deaths from COVID-19 continued to increase Tuesday, even as more Oregonians were vaccinated against the virus. The Oregon Health Authority reported 713 new cases on Dec. 29, bringing the state total to 111,227. State health authority officials also reported 16 new deaths, increasing the official toll to 1,449. The OHA also reported there were 527 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Oregon on Tuesday, which is 12 more than Monday. And there were 119 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which is six more than the day before. State health officials also reported 4,356 doses of vaccine were administered Dec. 28, raising the state s total number of first vaccine doses to 25,972. All vaccinations occurred at Oregon hospitals and long-term care facilities. ....
