PETALING JAYA: The government has no intention of setting up a commission for gig economies, despite the assurance given earlier this year by the deputy prime minister for such a body to be established.
This commission will act as a body that functions to coordinate and overcome related issues and produce initiatives that are capable of safeguarding the welfare of gig workers.
KUALA LUMPUR: Details of the commission to regulate the gig economy expected to impact 1.12 million workers will be announced in the 2024 Budget in October, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has given an assurance that the government will establish the Gig Economy Commission Malaysia (SEGiM).
