Scientists at Imperial College in london have begun human trials for a vaccine against the coronavirus. Theyre using an approach thats never been tried before if it works, a vaccine could be cheaper and easier to manufacture in mass quantities. Some of the uks largest councils says the financial pressure of the pandemic means they may have to declare themselves effectively bankrupt. A bbc investigation has found at least some local authorities may need to implement emergency spending controls and many have shortfalls of millions of pounds.
