They said they have been falsely implicated and tortured during detention. Police on Thursday said that it arrested five persons including two detenues in connection with the murder of Qadri. An official said that police arrested two persons with custody taken from Central Jail Srinagar, in connection with Babar Qadri murder case (FIR Number 62/2020 u/s 302 IPC, 7/27 Arms Act and 16/18 UAPA) registered in Police Station Lal Bazar in Srinagar. He identified them as Muneer Aziz War alias Qari son of Abdul Aziz War of Hatmulla Kupwara and Tawseef Ahmed Shah son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah of Parimpora, Srinagar. They were under detention at Central Jail, Srinagar. ....

The two arrests are in addition to the three it had already made Shahid Shafi Mir of Khanyar in Srinagar, Zahid Farooq Khan of Nowhatta in Srinagar and Asif Bhat of Rehmania Colony in Srinagar. The lawyer’s murder is being investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). It is heading by SP Hazratbal.
