Allama Jamil’s autobiography kept in library in manuscript form

PESHAWAR: The autobiography titled “Tazkara -i-Jamil” originally written in Persian by Allama Abdul Jamil and detailing events of around 36 years, has been kept in a local home library in manuscript form.
The author Allama Abdul Jamil hailed from the Toru area of Mardan (1864 AD -1946 AD). It was preserved by noted Pashto writer Mohammad Israr-Ur-Rehman Toru as the manuscript is an important historic document.
The book narrates the story of a great religious scholar who had mastered several branches of knowledge and scaled up the height of success in an early age as he was gifted with keen and deep insight and natural talent. He had attained a high repute among religious circles in the pre-partition era that many could not even think of today.
