Zayon Martinez is afraid to return to classes in-person in Uvalde, Texas because he does not believe cops will be able to protect him in case of another massacre.
Uvalde school police chief Pete Arredondo did not appear at the meeting that could decide if he is fired, but his lawyers did present a 17 page document.
Uvalde school officials have faced mounting pressure to fire Arredondo, who received much of the blame for the delay in confronting the shooter during the May 24 massacre at Robb Elementary.
