Tenants of an apartment building in Toronto’s Weston neighbourhood say they have seen their landlord put in applications for half a dozen rent hikes over the last decade at the Landlord and Tenant Board, and say they are determined to fight.
Tenants at 309 Strathearne Ave. say their landlord illegally denied them their right to move back in following renovations. 'There's no conscience there, none,' one tenant, Herman van der Meiden, said. 'It's really sad. I'm just hoping and praying.'
