Mining operation stalled at Karnataka's Hutti Gold Mines; Covid care facility to come up in vicinity

In an effort to help employees of the Hutti Gold Mines in Karnataka s Raichur and people in surrounding villages amid the growing number of Covid-19 cases, Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh R Nirani is planning to set up a Covid Care Centre (CCC) in the vicinity.
The minister is said to be considering two options to set up the CCC. The first option is to convert the community hall (convention centre) of the Hutti Gold Mines into a CCC. This would help the employees, their families and surrounding villagers affected by the pandemic. ....

Bengaluru, May 8: Boeing India Company has come forward to establish 250 oxygenated bed hospital for treatment of Covid patients in Kalaburgi district, Mining and Geology Minister Murugesh R Nirani has said in Kalaburgi on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, he said the proposed hospital is being established on private-public-partnership (PPP) model and is likely to be completed in six months.
Nirani, who has been touring the district for two days, said the Boeing India Company is establishing a similar 200 oxygenated bed hospital in Yelahanka in Bengaluru. ....

Koppal (Karnataka) [India], February 28 (ANI): Karnataka Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh R Nirani on Saturday appealed to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for reservation to the entire Veerashaiva-Lingayat community, saying that there are a lot of sub-sects in the community and reservation is necessary to ensure social justice.
There are many marginalised sub-sects such as Kumbara and Hadapa in Veerashaiva-Lingayat community who don t have MPs or MLAs, or the strength to stage an agitation. It is my opinion that the entire Veerashaiva-Lingayat community should be included in the 2A category. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will take an appropriate decision, Nirani was quoted in a statement. ....
