Voters decide fate of Two school levies in Genoa, Woodmore

ELMORE - Voters in Ottawa County rejected one local school levy and approved of another in Tuesday night’s primary election.
The two respective levies for the Woodmore Local School District and Genoa Area Local School District were the only issues on the ballot throughout Ottawa County.
Voters approved Woodmore Local School District’s substituting levy providing the necessary requirements in the initial some of $1,429,000 and 6.4 mills over 10 years.
According to unofficial results from the Ottawa County Board of Elections, the levy passed with 208 votes in favor and 124 votes against.
Because the substituting levy was approved, any remaining tax years on any of the existing two levies will not be collected after 2021. ....
