It should crest about three feet below the record. farther south in genevieve, it will fall two feet short of the record. but down in girardeau, the boot hill of missouri, they re really a watching the rise. today the flood stage is at 48.86. that is a record, it s never been that high before in cape girardeau. it s expected to crest tomorrow at 50 feet. now that sounds very dangerous, but there s a wall, a flood system there that can with stand 53 feet. so they re barely making it there. everyone is holding their breath that it doesn t go any higher and it s not forecast to. 95% of the town of cape girardeau is surrounded by a levy system. 5% is not. so about 25 homes are inaccessible because of the rising water. farther south toward memphis, ....
Year s day. interstate 55, some of the lanes have reopened. interstate 44 remains closed for about 24 miles but they are making progress in clearing some of the road. they have to scrape away the mud off of the interstate to open that back up to the holiday travelers trying to return back home. further downstream, the town of st. genevieve are also bracing for the flood but they re expected to fall two feet short of the record in 1993. so they re breathing a sigh of relief. the levees should hold. there is stress on them with all this massive amount of water moving past but they are expected to hold. the danger here in st. louis, in the st. louis area has passed. back to you, richard. charles, what does this mean for business next week, the first week of business there in st. louis? are they even talking about that at this moment? not right now. they re looking downstream, ....
High school is flooded out. as it moved to jennifer park where jennifer is in fenton, it kept fanning out. it s a little higher there. they had numerous vehicles stranded on i-55. they had to shut it down. now, the rivers to the north are fine. even st. louis and most of st. louis city is fine. we re not dealing with the ohio river, the missouri river as much which is receding. it is the arkansas river which is going to play a major role in this. and now that the merimack waters are reaching the mississippi, this is where we will find records broken on the mississippi, surpassing 93. you get down to around st. genevieve, areas of cape garrardo, this is where records will be set. southeast missouri state is there. then you get into illinois, major flooding. as you continue to head down, ....

Juan more no one more note here. the records are stay put from the st. louis northward and yes, flood iing out from st. louis t st. charles and st. peters where they closed down i-70, but west of pacific, they have shut down i-44 and extended it to 270 which is a mario thoreauway and disappoint. and the way it snakes north is where the up to of eureka is, and that is why they are completely cut off and not only one treatment plant, but two water waste treatment plants have been submerged. past fenton at the meramec, it is going to be hitting arnold which is flooding as well. then the record crest south of st. louis when you fet to chest, and historic ste. genevieve and this is the river right here at st. louis where the record of 41.9 is going to be true, but on the meramec, and this is ....
