很少人知道，70多年前，在这不足500米宽的河面上，广东人民解放军广阳支队第八团在这里成立了青草渡税站。这个税站曾为八团筹集军饷作出了重要的贡献，而站长张启光等四名税务战士却在国民党反动派“围剿”战中壮烈牺牲。
