Fidel Ylli has been elected as the new President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSH) following a comprehensive victory at the General Electoral Assembly.
Ylli, Albania’s
Chef de Mission at the Athens 2004 Olympics, claimed 40 of the 57 votes to secure a four-year term which is due to expire in 2024.
Vojo Malo, who held the role of interim KOKSH President following the dismissal of Viron Bezhani in January, polled 12, while Martin Biba collected four votes with one paper deemed invalid.
Erlind Pëllumbi, head of the Albanian Volleyball Federation, has been elected as vice-president of the KOKSH after securing 29 votes - nine more than Denisa Rrushi. ....

(ATR) The president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, transmitted a message of optimism to 41 NOCs of the Americas on Tuesday about the celebration of the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In his address in Spanish and English to the Panam Sports Virtual Ordinary General Assembly, Bach was encouraged by the scientific advances in rapid tests and in the initiation of vaccinations against the Covid pandemic.
