Philip Gannon, who led LCC for its first 32 years, dead at 98

LANSING – Philip Gannon, the first CEO and president of Lansing Community College, died Tuesday, a few weeks shy of his 99th birthday, LCC announced.
The college said it was committed to continuing his legacy and honoring his contributions through its continued service and plans to commemorate and celebrate the life of Gannon, who led the college for more than 30 years.
“Dr. Gannon was a visionary who made an indelible mark on Lansing and Mid-Michigan, current LCC President Steve Robinson said. The creation of Lansing Community College has transformed generations of lives and careers.”
