SB Moyo condolences continue to pour Sunday Mail Reporter War veterans described Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Dr Sibusiso Moyo, who died on Wednesday, as “the finest cadre from the crucible of the Zimbabwe revolution” who distinguished himself as a soldier, scholar, Statesman and diplomat. Condolence messages from friends and allies continued to pour in yesterday. Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWA) chairperson Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa said Dr Moyo’s memory will always be cherished. “Honourable Sibusiso Moyo, ZNLWA is ever indebted to you. You are the epitome of the finest cadre from the crucible of the Zimbabwe revolution. A freedom fighter, comrade, a cadre, a scholar, a soldier, an officer, a General, statesman, a diplomat. National hero status for SB Moyo Joseph Madzimure and Africa Moyo Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Lieutenant General Sibusiso Busi Moyo (Retired), has been declared a national hero. Lt Gen Moyo succumbed to Covid-19-related complications on Wednesday at a Harare medical facility. He was 59. Defence and War Veterans Affairs Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, who is also Zanu PF national chairperson, was dispatched to the Moyo family home in Harare yesterday evening by President Mnangagwa to deliver the message. She said Lt Gen Moyo will be buried at the National Heroes Acre on a date to be advised. Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri said President Mnangagwa and the party saw it fit to honour Dr Moyo as national hero for the contributions he made during the liberation struggle and after independence. ....

Brig-Gen Moyo National Hero Decorated military commander, Brigadier-General Collin Moyo (Retired), who died in Harare last Friday, has been declared a National Hero. Defence and War Veterans Affairs Minister Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri announced the status at Brig-Gen Moyo (Rtd)’s house in Harare yesterday. “He has been declared a National Hero. We cannot tell you when he will be buried. We know that he did not die as a result of Covid-19. His burial is different from those who were Covid-19 positive. “We are expected to have controlled numbers at the burial, so the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage will give us advice,” she said. ....
