AKG to probe kidnap of 6 persons in Batangas

Guillermo Eleazar, on Friday ordered the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) to conduct a thorough investigation into the reported abduction of six friends in Laurel, Batangas. He also assured the families of the kidnapped victims that the police would not stop until they are brought back home and the perpetrators are delivered to justice. "I feel their fears and worries as a parent so we assure them that their PNP will do everything in its power to solve this case," Eleazar said. He also tasked the AKG to coordinate with the victims' families to determine the possible motive behind the crime. NCR cops to help enforce LGUs' curfew for minors

Guillermo Eleazar, on Thursday ordered police personnel in Metro Manila to coordinate with their respective localities and keep themselves informed on which local government units (LGUs) have existing curfew ordinances for minors. This came as the general curfew in the region was lifted starting Thursday as part of the gradual easing of quarantine restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic. "There was previously uniformity on the curfew hours in Metro Manila from midnight to 4 a.m. for the general public but to my understanding, some of our LGUs have curfew ordinances for minors. So our local police units need to be clear on this with our LGUs," he added in a statement. (File photo) MANILA - Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, has ordered another revamp of officials, more than a week before he retires from the service on November 13. In an order dated November 3 and released on Thursday, Eleazar named current Highway Patrol Group (HPG) commander, Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, as the new chief of the Police Regional Office in Soccsksargen (PRO 12). Tagum will replace Brig. Gen. Michael John Dubria, who will now head the Directorate for Intelligence. Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Gregory Bognalbal from Office of the Chief PNP, will replace Tagum as HPG chief while Col. Eleazar orders probe into Caloocan village chief's slay

Guillermo Eleazar, on Wednesday tasked the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to investigate the killing of a village chief in Caloocan City on All Saints' Day. "All possible angles must be looked into by our investigators to determine the motive and the identity of the gunmen," Eleazar said in a statement. Initial reports said the victim, Jerry Apostol, chairperson of Barangay 143, was tending his store when he was gunned down by still unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects. The victim died on the spot while his wife was wounded in the incident. Eleazar assured the family of the victim that the suspects would be put behind bars and that justice would be served to the slain village chief.
