Events startup Hopin has completed its second acquisition in a month, with a $250 million deal to buy live streaming service StreamYard. Hopin, despite being a little over a year old, has already had three big funding rounds in 2020 and hit a $2.1 billion valuation. Hopin, a London, UK-based virtual events platform provider, acquired StreamYard, a Tualatin, Oregon-based live video streaming studio that allows content creators to produce professional-quality video streaming experiences, for $250m. The acquisition will allow Hopin to provide advanced video production features to Hopin event organizers. In addition to eventually integrating its features into the Hopin platform, StreamYard will continue to also offer its live streaming studio tools to independent content creators. Hopin buys livestreaming startup StreamYard for $250M as it looks to expand its product lineup This morning Hopin, a quickly growing startup that sells a technology platform for hosting digital events, announced that it has acquired StreamYard. The acquired company, which bootstrapped itself to material revenue scale, will retain its brand and in-market product. 1 At the time of its most recent round, Hopin told TechCrunch that it had grown its annual recurring revenue (ARR) from zero to $20 million in around nine months. In an email Hopin told TechCrunch that StreamYard had itself scaled to $30 million ARR without external capital.
