Pelley president obama interrupted preparations for tonights state of the Union Address to deal with a breaking development in the persian gulf. Iran seized two small u. S. Navy boats and took 10 crew members into custody. Cbs News National security correspondent david martin is following the story at the pentagon. Reporter the two small boats were on route from kuwait to bahrain but ended up on irans farsi island in the persian gulf. U. S. Officials believe the boats and the 10 sailors aboard were picked up after they had suffered a mechanical breakdown and drifted into iranian territorial waters. Officials do not know if shots were fired, but say irans foreign minister has personally assured secretary of state kerry the sailors will be allowed to continue their journey. earlier this week i had the pleasure of talking to a tv legend. he also happens to be the world record holder for most hours on television. that was before regis philbin did this show. we start with a rare clip from his first show. take a look. they package things they wrap things today like it infuriates me to open anything. what do you think when you see that, rege? how many years ago was that? i think that was one of my best shows. you know, i started a talk show in 1961 and it ran three years then they brought me up to hollywood to follow steve allen on the westinghouse evening show. yeah. of course, i just wasn t ready for that. on my show in san diego i produced it myself, i flew the people in from los angeles. power. i put them up at the hotel. i did everything i wanted to do. i got to hollywood, i find out i got a producer, i got a associate producers, i got writers and i wasn t prepared for that. i blew that wonderful opportunity. look at yo ....
