will bez, junior, and i guiding the discussion this afternoon. a theme that is central to the idea of remaking american political history. this is not to say that no one has ever thought of or written about latinos in american history. in fact, the conversation follows in the footsteps of many major works and scholars. instead, it is about rethinking what political historians pay attention to. in an earlier panel, we asked an essential question. there was a real barrier to what organizations and individuals are labeled as political or diplomatic actors. in a similar vein, this panel seeks to shift the conversation. to the development of modern american democracy. forged in the fire of 19th matury warfare, boosted by by migration, latinos have been part and parcel of modern america social fabric with well over 150 years of history in the united states. latinos have made an indelible mark in u.s. politics. be it in the early legislative history of the southwest territories as
day or who owns the temple mount and he knows it. he does not believe he can negotiate these issues because you make the point that resonates why should we give up the west bank in return for something that is less that leaves these issues open and festering? so he goes to the un. that question you have to ask yourself a strategy for the palestinian issue that leaves the democratic state state, what has to be the prime is really interest in a deal with the palestinians? is it getting them to renounce the hard help position like right of return and the temple mount or is it getting it out of the west bank with adequate security provisions? if the latter i think it is possible with american help perhaps in the international arena but maybe bilateral to make progress of a two-state solution to leave the heavy narrative issues like the temple mount 3,000 years old to leave them for the future that this is the only chance i see today. and frankly you have not been oriented in this
number two, for the democrats, lean into not taking our community for granted the visible failure to use failure to stand with our community proved costly. they need to embrace latinos policies and priorities. number three, to the president, the election is over. act bold to bring relief to the millions facing deportation and family separation. every modern president has used this authority the hispanic community has waited too long and expect you to fill your promise. i am optimistic. we re headed into an election cycle where our community will have the power to decide who will be the next president of united states. we take their responsibilities seriously and we are very confident that our community will act in the best interest of our country. thank you.
