More than Sh100 billion is at the centre of on-going corruption cases some of which involve current and former governors. The amounts and details were revealed through corruption cases filed by Asset Recovery Agency and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in a bid to recover public funds. Migori, Garissa, Tharaka Nithi and Nairobi are among counties whose governors have been dragged to court to face graft charges. Migori Governor Okoth Obado was charged for allegedly defrauding the county government of more than Sh300 million.
