Some of the photos will show action moments of the late Afrobeat icon, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, as well as the late human rights activist and lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi (SAN).
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Anambra State on Tuesday told Governor Chukwuma Soludo that the level of hunger and hardship in the state had become so unbearable that some people were slumping and dying while those alive were suffering and smiling. The NLC on Tuesday at the Government House, Awka, the State capital, lamented that while workers across the country were complaining that the approved N30,000 minimum wage was no longer worth anything because of inflation, Governor Soludo was not paying workers in the state the approved minimum wage.
"The commemorative photographic exhibition would capture various snapshots of history that PUNCH had served its numerous readers as a socially conscious and people-oriented news organisation over the years," Mr Ayorinde said.
The photo exhibition, showcasing iconic photographs from PUNCH’s rich archive, comes next after the ceremonies marking the newspaper house’s golden jubilee kicked off on February 24, 2024 with a colourful novelty match at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
