The Texans started the final day of the 2021 NFL Draft by taking Miami (FL) tight end Brevin Jordan in the fifth round at 147th overall.
The 6-foot-3 inch, 245-pounder caught 105 passes for 1,358 yards and 13 touchdowns in 30 career games with the Hurricanes. He started for three years in Coral Gables. I think it helped me a lot, Jordan said. I came in as a true freshman, a deer-in-the-headlights freshman, and I earned my spot. I had to come in and compete. I had to come in earn my spot. But I think that s going to help me coming into the NFL with the Texans. I m going to have to compete and I m going to have to earn the trust of my teammates.

The Houston Texans drafted Stanford quarterback Davis Mills with their first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Selected in the third round with the 67th overall pick, Mills won t be leaving his Cardinal ties far behind.
This offseason, the Texans added Pep Hamilton as their passing game coordinator and quarterback coach. Hamilton, who was on staff with current head coach David Shaw, coached three years at Stanford (2010-12), serving as wide receivers coach in 2010 and two seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach (2011-12).
After he was drafted by the Texans, Mills received a phone call from his new position coach.
